Unofficial Cquirt Championships of the Known Universe(s) 5/30

Based on the recent postings here on the Angst site relating to the Squirt MYSTERY World Championships, it was suggested that single blade paddlers should have a fun non-competitive event as well!

So with Cquirt growth and at least 2 new designs likely to show up at the event (...possibly 4) we're "going to get it on"!!

So on May 30th, 2008 the first ....
Unofficial Cquirt Championships of the Known Universe(s) ....will be held.

This name was decided on based upon
1. It being really short notice to have a competition,
2. There are folks across the Western Hemisphere, in Europe and from the Far East / Down Under that would feel slighted not having more notice,
3. Being serious and official is not the Cquirt way, and
4. Adam needed a description for Cquirt T-shirts to sell to support cboats.net (he promises Sara will come up with another cool design)!

There will be
o No prizes just glory (or lack there of)! Well... humm....maybe!!!
o No rules!!!
o Non-official Judging will be finalized over dinner that night (restaurant location to be TBD).

Judging will be based on what ever categories are brought up! Smoothest drop, longest down time, lamest attempt, most clueless, ugliest boat, coolest boat, silliest looking Cquitest, etc.! Judges will include everyone there (the major rule, as does out-talking others...) and will be limited only by keeping Cquirt discussions going with the intent to make the day even more enjoyable.

Canoe, hand and kayak squirt paddlers (and attempts) are encouraged to attend and bonus points will be award if someone can get DT with all three (points will not be documented however!). All types of squirt are welcome but use of an cboat is high recommended - come on ..drink the Kool-Aid and give it a try!!!

There will be boats available to try out!!!

Additionally, an adult beverage will be hoisted in honor of anyone who can get some real DT in an OC (1 or 2).

Taking this Cquirt seriously is not a requirement. Basically this is just another excuse to laugh at ourselves and our sub-culture, of a sub-culture! Hopefully the weather will cooperate with sunny ski and perfect levels for the Cheat Narrow. C U there!

PS: Maybe if a few of us start to dial it in we ll develop enough confidence to show up at JimiCup!
