the higher the better these days at cowbell. at 1400 we were still catching good rides, but with a little more work.

personally, if i were squirting on the noli right now, which i won't cause it's too cold for my appetite at the moment, i would put-in and paddle down to jaws. there is a spot below on the rocks called statewide that offers up some nice rides with multiple entries. statewide is great from like 700-1200 cfs with optimal between 800-1000. you get to run entrance and on the rocks. both rapids have cool downstream moves through them. i think you can get your head wet at six or seven different spots on the way to statewide with a nice surf in there as well. and you get to finish the session with some surfing at jaws. a short hike out up the tracks and you are warm and dry again.
