It is with a very heavy heart that I post this. The squirt community has lost one of its own. Yesterday, two-time JimiCup winner and all-around wonderful human being Joel Harris was killed in a BASE jumping accident in Switzerland.
Joel was a rare treat, a guy who lived a life of absolute authenticity. He had the heart of a lion, and the soul of a little boy, always looking for the next big thrill. His fearlessness and toughness were matched only by his humility and generosity, and the world is infinitely poorer for having lost him. Without the support of Joel and his great friend David Willer, JimiCup would likely never have gotten off the ground.
RIP Joel - you will be greatly missed.

Condolences.
The spirit most certainly flowed through Joel. I will never forget him taking his cast off of his broken leg in order to compete during the Jimi Cup in 2007 or 2008. (Sorry, never been very good with chronology)
It should be noted that he was one hell of a nerf golf player as well. Which, as everyone knows, is the real reason we converge upon River Run annually. How many times has his name graced the most coveted trophy in the world?
I look forward to dropping some rides at Smoothie next summer for Joel.
