Worlds 2018 Proposition

Hello,

Next July marks the 20th anniversary of Jimicup. This could be a great opportunity to host Worlds as a coinciding event on the Ottawa. Typically we have tried to alternate coasts so that no group has to fly across the country 2 years in a row but would like to gauge PNW's interest in this idea. I would recommend that World's take place on a different day at a different spot on the river or in the area with Smoothie as a backup.

Second this motion. It would be nice to have a massive gathering for the 20th annual jimicup. Pairing worlds up with it would probably get the job done.

Not that my voice matters all that much, but a combo JimiCup 20 + Worlds would be epic. If not Smoothie, what are some other potential Worlds-worthy spots on the Ottawa? I'm sure they're there, but I've only every sunk at Smoothie.

There's a spot below the island in the lake that is epic at the right flows, and I'm sure theres dozens more on the river. We would have a whole week to prooooooobe.

I really like this idea. It be great to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Jimi Cup with World's especially since the Ottawa hosted the inaugural WMC. I also know my vote is almost mute, as it has been a long time since I've attended one of these, but I vote for an Ottawa Jimi Cup/WMC combo! I'll try real hard to make it - promise. -- jtrembley
